Converting Checklist Items to Issues
You can convert checklist items to issues, either individually or in bulk.
The conversion process will fail if the target Issue has mandatory custom fields.
For each converted item, the issue key is added to the item name. Make sure to save the checklist after the conversion otherwise these information will be lost.
One Item at a time
To convert an individual item, simply mouse over the item. A Convert icon should appear on the far right just before the edit icon. Click on it.
A dialog will then appear and allow you to select the issue type that the item should convert into. Note that if you select a Sub-Task issue type, the item will convert into a Sub-Task but if the Checklist is already in a Sub-Task, then the item will be converted into a sibling Sub-Task.
Click on “Confirm”.
Multiple items at a time
From the Checklist header menu, select “Convert unchecked items to issues”.
A dialog will then appear and allow you to select the issue type that the unchecked items should convert into. Note that if you select a Sub-Task issue type, the items will convert into Sub-Tasks but if the Checklist is already in a Sub-Task, then the items will be converted into sibling Sub-Tasks.
Click on “Confirm”. All uncheck items will be converted into issues.
