You need administrator rights in Jira to perform the tasks on this page.

You can create default local items, which are editable checklist items that will be added to a checklist by default whenever a new issue is created. For more information about default local items and how they’re different from other types of items, see Understanding local, default local, and global items.

In some cases, you may want to have different default local items for different issue types (such as bugs and tasks). As long as each of these issue types are in a different project, this is straightforward to achieve in Jira.

If your issue types are within the same project, see https://okapya.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/resumedraft.action?draftId=2091155567 instead.

To create different sets of default local items for your different issue types:

  1. Create a Checklist custom field (for details, see Setting up a Checklist custom field).

  2. Within that custom field, create a configuration scheme context for the first project and issue type that you want to create default local items for (for details, see Creating, editing or deleting configuration scheme contexts).

  3. Create default local items for the configuration scheme context you just created (for details, see Editing default local items).

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the remaining project(s) and issue type(s).
